Handling Sheep
Handling sheep on an agricultural site comes with a wide range of responsibilities – such as dipping, jetting, and crutching. Nonetheless, these three treatments could include those you are unable to carry out yourself for legal or practical reasons.
We offer all of the following services for clients based in the Scottish Borders region.
Sheep Dipping
While sheep dipping is the only all-in-one method for ensuring that scabs, lice, and ticks are controlled in a complete and targeted fashion, many farmers are not registered to dip. Therefore, you can arrange for a licensed sheep dipper from our team to undertake dipping for your sheep’s benefit.

Sheep Jetting
Blowfly strike poses the largest threat to a sheep’s life, and prevention is better than cure. With our sheep jetting treatment, we can apply a liquid substance directly to a sheep’s outer body to kill parasites present there or to deter parasite infection.

Sheep Crutching
Crutching is the act of removing wool from around the tail and between the rear legs of a sheep for hygiene reasons. We have the equipment, including a peak handler, necessary for crutching and, in the process, removing “dags” – wool clumps stained with feces or urine – from your sheep.
Mobile Sheep Dipping, Jetting & Crutching
All of the sheep services mentioned above are available on a mobile basis, enabling us to travel to your farm in the Scottish Borders region to undertake mobile sheep jetting, dipping, or cutting. We can bring equipment such as a peak handler for easily restraining and handling sheep.
